The brief for this room was to create a ‘TV snug’ come cinema room that was also functional as a spare room for guests, therefore a ‘day bed’ design style sofa was the way to go…
The Sofa base is made from a standard (memory foam) double mattress, so not only is it very comfy to sit on, it also takes a standard fitted bottom sheet for when its being used as a bed. The Oak cabinets either side have lift up lids with lots of internal storage for bedding etc, plus each side of the sofa has a little ‘nook’ with a light, plug point and USB charger….. and obviously a perfect place to put your glass of wine!
The TV stand is designed to be as unintrusive into the depth of room as possible and floats of the wall, increasing the feel of floor space. It houses the centre surround sound speaker and the amp
Behind the TV is a raised mezzanine area that is home to a very large ‘cheese plant’ as well as being used as a space to dry our laundry so to allow this to continue without taking up the whole space a drying rack made from Oak now hangs off the radiator
Finally there is a wall hung plant pot holder under the windowsill – because you can never have enough house plants
